Defense of Mother Earth

AMMID is an organization that respects and promotes the worldview of the Maya Mam people, which considers the human being as a part and not the center of nature. This organization seeks to establish harmonious relationships that allow the Good Living of the communities by implementing strategies and actions for the sustainability of natural resources, disaster risk management, and the defense of the territory / Mother Earth before any threat of exploitation.

Program objective:

Promote the harmonious coexistence and the defense of Mother Earth.

In order to achieve this, we promote the following strategic actions:

• Promotion of use and management natural resources: forest, soil and water.
• Protection and defense of the collective right to the territory and to the mother earth against mining and other extractive projects.
• Disaster Risk Management.
