Food Sovereignty

With this program, AMMID seeks to transcend the traditional strategies of technical response of food insecurity to a focus on rights. Technical strategies are complemented by political strategies that enable the exercising of rights to food sovereignty for the Mam people in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.

Program objective:

To promote the exercise of the right to food sovereignty of the Mayan Mam people from Comitancillo.

In order to achieve this, we promote the following strategic actions:

• Implementation of collective undertakings under the principles of Solidarity Economy.
• Political and technical promotion of agroecology.
